Assemblin Caverion Group joins the UN Global Compact and commits to support its principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption

Assemblin Caverion Group has joined the United Nations (UN) Global Compact initiative and committed to align its strategies and operations with the UN’s universal principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

Assemblin Caverion Group’s sustainability agenda is guided by the UN Global Compact’s 10 globally acknowledged principles and the 17 Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs). The Group has identified its key impact areas across the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) sustainability pillars.

“We have taken meaningful steps in mitigating climate change by helping customers in the green transition and creating sustainable growth. We have also set science-based emissions reduction targets (SBTi) to limit global warming to 1.5 in line with the Paris Agreement. Now, committing officially to the UN Global Compact initiative is a natural and important step for us as Assemblin Caverion Group”, comments Tiia Pirttimaa, Director of Sustainability, Assemblin Caverion Group.

The Group’s business operations have the greatest impact on the following six UN Sustainability Development Goals:

  • 7. Affordable and clean energy
  • 8. Decent work and economic growth
  • 9. Industry, innovation and infrastructure
  • 11. Sustainable cities and communities
  • 13. Climate action
  • 16. Peace, justice and strong institutions

The report on the implementation of the Global Compact principles in the Group’s business operations (Communication on Progress, CoP) is publicly available on the Global Compact website.

“Today marks 10 years since UN Member States adopted the SDGs – with only five years left to achieve the goals. That is why we are promoting our UN Global Compact commitment and the SDGs by celebrating the global SDG Flag Day in our offices”, says Åsvor Brynnel, EVP, Head of Communications and Sustainability, Assemblin Caverion Group.
